02/17/2002 Entry: "2/17/02 Morning"

I don't know where the time goes. I had a fantastic Valentine's Day! Shawn made me an omelet and hashbrowns and was going to surprise me by serving me in bed. Wouldn't you know I came downstairs just as he was loading his plate. He grabbed my hand and served me at the dining room table. What makes this even more sweet is he put onions in my omelet. Anyone who knows Shawn knows he'd never eat an onion, much less touch one! This really must be love hehehe. I also got a very nice romantic card along with a beautiful amethyst and diamond necklace that I had my eye on. I'm not usually a big jewelry fan, but I had wanted a necklace as I don't have one. I got Shawn a nice gooshy card along with a Wisconsin Badger sweatshirt, which he loved. Then that night we went out to one of our favorite restaurants and ended up meeting his sister and boyfriend. So that was a fun time!

I have a new hobby and one that I'd like to turn into a business venture. I am making candles. I have always wanted to try this but never had the room. Shawn set up an area in the basement with everything I need, so all I need to do is order supplies and experiment. I was originally researching lotion and shower gel but came upon so much candle imformation along the way that I've decided to give it a try. I am still in the research stage and about to move into the experimentation stage (next week). One of the main reasons I'm doing this is because my mom is always searching for a decent candle for her store, and we are never satisfied. This way, I can do the candles the way I wanted. I'm also going to be making lotion and shower gel. If nothing else, I'll have a nice hobby to keep me very busy and tons of products which I use daily and love. I certainly haven't felt like making graphics for a long, long time. I can only hope that my candle and lotion hobby will keep me busy as many years as the graphics have. I'd really like to start a business with this and will use my Joy 'n Heart name that I already have registered with Wisconsin. I had registered that name back when I was going to sell my graphics in print. That never panned out as I could not find an inexpensive frame supplier, which meant I could not sell them wholesale as planned. Plus I lost all motivation for creating graphics. I'ts time for something new! :)

I wish I had an area just to make soap! Every time I get in the kitchen to soap, someone wants to cook something, Arrrrggggh! Good luck with your new candle business hon! :)

Glad you had a nice Valentine's Day, the necklace sounds beautiful.

Your new adventure sounds like fun too, I know you don't believe in the astrology stuff a lot, but Gemini's need to be constantly challenged and entertained... :)

I know I am that way...I always need a challenge...good luck and I hope it works out really well, I'd love to do something like that myself.

Your necklace sounds gorgeous! (pics please!), Shawn is dear (keep him), and I'm glad to hear you so excited about your candle business! Sounds fantastic! Except soon none of us will want to get out of our bathtubs with you and Stephanie on the go!

Oh girl, how I'd love to try your body lotions when you get your new business going. Let me know, will ya. Can you make something for exxxxxxtremely dry skin? All that caffiene dries my skin out r-e-a-l bad. I'm serious; please let me know. ~Suz
