[Previous entry: "8/16 Evening"] Home [Next entry: "8/17 Night"] 08/16/2001 Entry: "8/16 Exercise" I was disappointed to see my weight loss was only 1 lb (total) today instead of the 3 I had the other day. I do know my weight can fluctuate, but I have a feeling my latest out to eats have hurt me. So I really tried to watch my food intake today and think I did pretty well. I am going to start a new journal for my lifestyle changes as soon as I have some free time. I am also going to purchase some of the Firm videos so I'd appreciate any recommendations from those who use them. I'm searching for a video that will tone my buns, thighs, biceps, abs, and help me get rid of the love handles. I don't like a lot of aerobics so I'd like to take it easy until I get into the swing of things. So please leave me your recommendations. Shawn has a really neat exercise machine. You can run on it and adjust the level so it's either almost flat or like a stepper. He had it custom made when he had knee surgery so I know it's gently on the knees, unlike running would be. Anyway, I could never last long on that machine because I'm so out of shape, so I might try that again. Meanwhile, I want to order some tapes and start there. I really want to lose some drastic weight before my trip to Florida in December!
Replies: 7 comments Leah,I have the number 2 firm workout (with Janet Jones Gretszky). It's fantastic. There are lots of aerobics, but also lots and lots of muscle work too. You can skip through aerobics and only do workouts,or vice versa. The cool thing is that when you get done, you KNOW you have worked out! Good luck! I started with number 2 which is an awesome tape, but it's 60 minutes, and it's tough! The basics start you off slower, more gradual, teach you the proper forms, etc, and I love them!!! They are here: You will need some hand weights (I'd start with 3# ones from Walmart), a broom handle, or piece of sturdy dowl that approx. length) and a sturdy stool about 12-14 inches tall. If you have other questions.... ASK! I highly recommend these workouts! Bev has spoken @ 08/17/2001 09:13 AM CST Sorry Leah, that link doesn't work. Just do a search at Amazon for "Firm basic" Bev has spoken @ 08/17/2001 09:14 AM CST Thanks so much for the info! I will look into these. :) Leah has spoken @ 08/17/2001 09:30 AM CST Leah! The scale really isn't your friend. Your weight can flucuate 5lbs in a day because of water, just eating, etc, etc. Pick 1(one,un,uno)! day to get on that scale a week and only get on it then. Now if I could follow my own advice *g* Trish has spoken @ 08/17/2001 09:51 AM CST Thanks for the tip Trisha! I think I will only weigh myself on a certain day each week. :) Leah has spoken @ 08/17/2001 11:10 AM CST
